8 Practises to Boost your Immune System
There are so many practises that you can incorporate in your daily routine to stay healthy and strong in this chaotic situation.
With this situation of health crisis a lot of fear might come up, and that's absolutely normal. We are constantly bombarded with information about the evolution of the virus, the infections, the deaths, etc. This can be really overwhelming and stressful. We might be worried about getting the virus and what will happen to us if we do.
Besides the regular actions that you can take to avoid it (like staying home, washing your hands, taking showers, changing clothes when going outside, staying 1.5m away from people) you can incorporate practises that will boost your immune system and help your body be strong against any potential threat.
We are not broken or machines that need to be fixed. Our bodies are perfect and constantly looking for its natural state of balance. We just need to help them find this homeostasis with routines that serve us and raise our vibration. Of course, this applies to any given situation and not just now that we have the Coronavirus infection, you can help your body fight disease and become healthy and resilient.
What you eat, drink, do, think and believe can influence your gene activity, how crazy is that? (Check out the science of epigenetic if you wanna know more about this topic, it's so interesting) So, we are limitless beings with so much power. We can learn how to use it to thrive and feel our best.
So here are a few ideas that you can incorporate in your daily routine to boost your immune system:
1. GET ENOUGH SLEEP:
I believe sleep is really underestimated. We need to sleep enough hours. Sleeping is a vital function of our body. While we sleep our body is being healed and repaired. Sleep is the most effective thing we can do to reset our brain and body health each day.
2. EAT NOURISHING MEALS FULL OF ANTIOXIDANTS:
Mother Earth offers us so many plants that are pure medicine for our bodies. Eating whole foods, full of colour, you are loading up in antioxidants that will help your body restore, heal and fight disease. Every body is different, so there's no one diet that fits

all. However, if you tune in and get in touch with your body, you'll find what makes you feel good. Combining science with intuition magic can happen. Here you can check out my easy guide for a plant-based diet.
3. MEDITATION:
Stress can be our worst enemy. The fight-or-flight response in the body weakens our immune system and leaves us more vulnerable to disease. Meditation can be a great practise to teach the body how to relax and switch to our rest and digest nervous system, where our bodies have time to heal and restore. It doesn't have to be long, you can meditate for just 5 minutes or even 1. If you have never done that before, start small and you'll have time to build from there. Check out my post about the benefits of meditation according to science here.
4. BREATHE WORK:
Breathing exercises are a great tool to help the body relax and send signals of safety to the brain. As meditation, it is an amazing activity to incorporate that will help your body go back to its natural state of balance. To do some breathe work, you can just sit or lie down in a comfortable position. Rest your hands on your belly and breathe in deeply with your abdomen. Instead of inhaling in your chest, bring the air to your belly. Just take a few deep breaths and you'll see the effects. Check out my Youtube Channel for meditation and breathework techniques.

5. JOURNALING:
The practise of journaling is a great tool to gain clarity and free ourselves from the intensity of emotions. (You can check out here my post about the benefits of journaling if you want to learn more about it). When we journal, we can help the body release stress and become more relaxed. A great way to take advantage of journaling is to do it as soon as you wake up. By doing that you have better access to your subconscious mind and it's the perfect moment to write down some affirmations like "I'm healthy and strong", "I'm good at making good choices for my body", etc.
6. OIL PULLING AND TONGUE SCRAPING:
It can be really disgusting but it's an amazing thing that you can do for yourself when you wake up. Just take one tbsp of coconut oil and keep it in your mouth for 10 minutes. After that, scrap your tongue and brush your teeth. These practises will help your body release toxins and kill harmful bacteria in your mouth.
7. DO SOME YOGA OR MOVE YOUR BODY:
Moving your body in a way that feels good will help your relax and feel more peaceful. I believe yoga is particular benefitial as the practise focuses on the breathe and calms the mind. By doing that, we are again, sending signals to our brains that it is safe, so we can allow our bodies to rest, heal and restore.
8. GROUND IN NATURE:
If that's possible for you, go out in your garden (or balcony) and walk barefoot. Soak up the sun and connect with Earth. Nature can be really healing and great for your immune system.
Just know that these are just examples and practises that I personally embody on a daily basis and that have brought me a lot of mental, physical and spiritual healing. But the key is to find what makes you feel good, what feels aligned with your highest-self. You are a powerful being. You are greater than you think. Trust that everything will be ok and give yourself what you deserve.
